Heelside: Origins

Long ago, I used to write for a longboard review website. I was paid a measly $5 an article, and the articles were meant to funnel as much traffic as possible to affiliate links wherein the sales would benefit the site owner.

I still wrote because I enjoy downhill skate products as much as the next guy. I buy a lot of it, I use a lot of it, I resell a lot of it. I have a background that allows me to deeply understand many of the mechanisms behind why certain products perform the way they do.

A lot of those articles still exist on the internet today, floating around until that domain’s prepayment runs out. They’re no longer wholly accurate given the decade that has since passed, but I notice that people still refer to it here and there.

That means people are still looking for information on downhill skate products.

I’d like to do this again, but without benefiting anybody except for the reader. Not me, not a site owner. Just you.

Thanks for reading.
